      Why I Started Dog Heaven:

A Sanctuary for Animals and the Soul

      People often ask me:
Why did you start Dog Heaven?

The truth is, it wasn’t just about rescuing animals. It was about healing—for them, and for me.

For years, I lived within the walls of expectations—societal norms, personal doubts, and the relentless push to do more and be more. When my own life hit a point of breaking, I found comfort in the presence of animals. Specifically, those who had been abandoned or overlooked.

These animals didn’t ask me to be perfect. They didn’t judge me for my struggles.
They simply offered presence—a quiet, unwavering kind of acceptance.

And in that presence, I found my own healing.

So I built Dog Heaven—not just as a rescue, but as a sanctuary.
A forever home for dogs at high risk of euthanasia or too sensitive for traditional shelters. Here, they are never rushed, never pressured, and never seen as “too much.”

But something unexpected happened along the way:
Dog Heaven became a sanctuary for me, too.

It’s where I learned to slow down.
      To trust again.
To reconnect with nature and remember what it feels like to be fully, wildly, human.

Today, Dog Heaven isn’t just a place where animals are rescued—it’s where women can rediscover their own strength through the healing presence of these dogs.

Because in saving them, we often save parts of ourselves.

If you’re curious about this journey, I’d love to share more.
