You Don’t Have to Rush to Belong:

Healing Lessons from the Earth and Our Animals

Last month's Earth Day was a beautiful reminder of our connection to the natural world. But here’s the truth I’ve learned from working with animals: healing through nature isn’t something that happens once a year. It’s something we live every day.

At our sanctuary, Dog Heaven, I watch dogs rediscover their joy—not just through safety, but through their connection with the earth.

They nap in the sun, roll in the dirt without shame, stretch into long, relaxed poses as if the world finally gave them permission to rest.

And maybe… it did.

Because when we return to the land, we return to something ancient and true:
🌿 That we’re not broken.
🌿 That we were never meant to live in survival mode.
🌿 That we belong here, just as we are.

The dogs don’t ask permission to take up space. They just do.
They trust the earth to hold them.
They trust themselves to belong.

And what if you did the same?

This week, I’m holding onto a mantra that’s been softening something deep inside me:
🌍 “I am held by the Earth, and I belong here.” 🌍

It’s a reminder that your healing doesn’t need to be fast, visible, or validated.
It just needs to feel like yours.

You don’t have to rush to catch up.
You’re already home.
